In a shooting on October 3, 2023, at Morgan State University in Baltimore, at least four people suffered injuries, but none were serious.
Police from Baltimore initially claimed that there was an "active shooter situation" . Police held the campus under lockdown for hours, warning everyone to take cover and stay away from the area. The incident was said to have occurred at an address resembling looked similar to a home on the same block as a police station.
Who Are Shooters At Morgan State University?
The incident which took place on the Morgan University's bordering street on October 3, has not yet had a suspect named. On Tuesday night, police were called to a possible active shooter situation close to the campus.
Baltimore police said on social media at 11:55 p.m. ET that the incident was no longer being treated as a case of active shooter. Around 10 p.m. ET, authorities issued the first public warning regarding the active shooter situation.
The Baltimore Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives was sending agents to assist the Baltimore police. Following a report of gunfire on or near campus, an active investigation is now being conducted.
Victims Of The Morgan State Shooting
The victims of the shooting were aged between 18-22 years old, however, the identification hasn't been disclosed yet.
According to Morgan State Police Chief Lance Hatcher, four of the victims were university students. Police didn't disclose any information regarding a suspect or suspects, and no arrests were reported.
A few hours after midnight, a group of students who were hiding in the arts center started showing up dressed in gowns and suits. Many people were still tackling the shocking change of events that had converted a night of joy into one of chaos and fear.
